The NSFGC Juniors program diversifies itself throughout the year to take advantage of the seasons. December to March we try to hold several snowshoe outings on the local mountains (Cypress and Seymour).
Early spring is also a good time for bird watching outings at Burnaby Lake, Boundary Bay and the Rieffel Bird Sanctuary. Duck and goose identification is prime at this time of year to sharpen your skills for the fall hunting season.
April and May are Sunday outings to Whonnock Lake (Maple Ridge) for crappie, rainbow and cutthroat trout. June and September are Grouse Grind outings to get in shape for summer and fall hunting season.
October and November is chum fishing on the Stave River. Depending on the hunting chairman’s schedule,we try to hold a deer and grouse hunt in October as well. Overall there is something for everyone.
